Day 1

DAY 1 – ATHENS > CORINTH

Begin your journey into the heart of mainland Greece as we depart from Athens toward the Peloponnese.

Along the way, enjoy a scenic stop at the famous **Corinth Canal, **a breathtaking engineering marvel that dramatically separates mainland Greece from the Peloponnese. Don’t forget to snap some photos of this narrow yet striking waterway, carved through solid rock.

Upon arrival in Corinth, check in at your hotel and take some time to relax and settle in.

Day 2

DAY 2 – CORINTH > EPIDAURUS > NAFPLIO > MYCENAE > OLYMPIA

Breakfast at the hotel.
Depart for Epidaurus, world-famous for its impressive ancient theater, renowned for its exceptional acoustics. Enjoy a full visit of this fascinating site, where even the faintest whisper on stage can be heard clearly in the highest tiers. Next, travel to the charming town of Nafplio, known for its picturesque narrow streets and beautiful Venetian architecture. A perfect spot for a brief photo stop to capture the town’s timeless beauty.

Continue to Mycenae, one of the most important archaeological sites of ancient Greece. Explore the ruins of this once-great royal city, including the legendary Tomb of Agamemnon, mythical king and hero of the Trojan War.

Your journey then continues toward Olympia, crossing through the stunning landscapes of central Peloponnese. Along the way, you’ll pass through Tripoli, nestled in the heart of the region, and Megalopolis, once a major ancient city. These towns offer a glimpse into local history and culture.

After this enriching drive, you’ll arrive in Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games more than 2,500 years ago. Settle in for the night in this historically rich region, ready to explore its archaeological wonders the next day.

DAY 3 – OLYMPIA > DELPHI

Your morning will be devoted to exploring the renowned archaeological site of Olympia, a place steeped in history and symbolism. Begin your visit at the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, once home to one of the largest temples in ancient Greece, dedicated to the king of the gods. This temple famously housed the chryselephantine statue of Zeus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Next, step into the ancient stadium, the legendary venue where the original Olympic Games were held. Walking through this vast arena, you can almost hear the echoes of ancient athletes competing under the watchful eyes of the gods. The visit continues at the Archaeological Museum, where you’ll admire a collection of remarkable artifacts.

In the afternoon, your journey continues through the fertile plains of Elis and Achaea, heading toward the Rio-Antirrio Bridge, a masterpiece of modern engineering that elegantly spans the Gulf of Corinth. On the way, pass through the picturesque towns of Nafpaktos (formerly Lepanto), known for its historic naval battle, and Itea, a charming coastal town nestled along the Gulf of Corinth. Your day concludes with arrival in Delphi, a mystical site once regarded as the center of the ancient Greek world.

DAY4 – DELPHI > METEORA

Your morning will be dedicated to discovering Delphi, one of the most iconic archaeological sites of ancient Greece. Nestled on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, this mystical place was once regarded as the navel of the world, home to the legendary Oracle of Apollo. Begin your visit at the Sanctuary of Apollo, where ancient pilgrims came to consult the Pythia, the priestess whose prophetic words influenced the great political and military decisions of antiquity. The site also includes several remarkable monuments, such as the Temple of Apollo, the ancient theatre,** **which hosted performances during the Pythian Games and the stadium, where athletic competitions were held.

Right after visit the Delphi Archaeological Museum, which houses a rich collection of artifacts unearthed on-site. Among its most famous exhibits are the bronze statue of the Charioteer of Delphi, a masterpiece of classical Greek art, as well as intricately carved friezes and metopes from ancient temples. This visit offers a captivating glimpse into the spiritual and artistic world of Ancient Greece.

You will then travel toward Kalambaka, a quaint town nestled at the foot of the towering rock formations of Meteora. These colossal natural pillars, rising dramatically from the earth, are crowned with centuries-old monasteries, creating a landscape that is both majestic and mystical.

DAY 5 – METEORA > ATHENS

Today, you will explore the site of the Meteora, one of the most spectacular and unique landscapes in Greece. Perched atop towering, gravity-defying rock pillars that seem to float in the sky, these medieval monasteries offer breathtaking views and a mystical, otherworldly atmosphere. Built in the 14th century by monks seeking solitude and spiritual connection with God, the monasteries were designed as secluded sanctuaries, far removed from the distractions of the world. Only six monasteries remain active today, but their extraordinary architecture make them truly unforgettable.

During your visit, you will admire stunning Byzantine frescoes and religious icons, beautifully preserved through the centuries. These sacred artworks reflect the Byzantine Empire’s cultural legacy and the deep spiritual devotion that permeates the monasteries. As you wander through the chapels and monastic quarters, you’ll feel transported back in time, gaining insight into the simplicity and dedication of monastic life.

You will then begin the return journey to Athens, passing through the towns of Trikala and Lamia. Along the way, a short stop at Thermopylae will give you a chance to view the famous monument to King Leonidas, honoring his legendary courage in the historic battle against the Persian army.

DAY 6 – ATHENS DEPARTURE

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure for a tour of Athens, a city full of contrasts. You will explore the heart of the city by visiting Constitution Square (Syntagma), the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and the Parliament, where you will see the Evzones, soldiers dressed in traditional Greek uniforms, standing guard in front of the Presidential Palace. You will also admire the elegant neoclassical buildings such as the Academy, the University, and the National Library.

On the way to the Acropolis, you will pass by Hadrian’s Gate and the Panathenaic Stadium. On the sacred rock of the Acropolis, you will visit the museum and admire the wonders of Athens’ golden age: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Parthenon, a symbol of perfect harmony between mind and matter.

Depending on your flight schedule, lunch and free time will be provided.
